I went to a small and lovely baby shower this weekend, and I again realized the importance of perspectives. The conversation was along the lines of the early days of bringing home baby and experiencing the lack of sleep and not knowing what to do with baby. I sat there thinking and could not recall ever complaining about being so tired, frustrated, and unsure. We definitely experienced those emotions. This is where perspective comes into play. You see, because of this_precious_boy, we were ecstatic to be exhausted, embraced the frustration, rejoiced to hear crying, and prayed for Aaron and Christa. And we still pray for them. Their tiny boy has shaped how I have mothered and loved since the beginning of Simon.
