Ever Ever

Simon has always sat with us in church, and with a few quiet activities he does quite well. The nursery has been utilized a few times when Eric and I have double duty during the service or when he is just too playful. He folds his hands, looks at the pastor, knows his offering goes to Jesus, and knows when the pastor reads the Bible. His recent additions are stating "done" whenever the organ stops, pastor finishes, or singing is done. But this past Sunday, we were praying the Lord's Prayer and Simon says at the end "ever ever" for the "forever and ever" part. He also started to talk loud during the singing parts, as if he was trying to sing along! It is amazing what little ones pick up when they are repeatedly exposed to events!

A Big Boy Bed!

Simon has been watching his Daddy make his "new bed" for quite some time now. We used a mattress from IKEA that is longer than a crib mattress, but shorter than a twin. After searching high and low for bedding, we finally found a blanket and quilt for Simon's new bed. Just our luck that it goes well with the room decor! Well, this evening the project came to completion; which caused quite some excitement in our household. After dinner, we all enjoyed playing in his room and on his bed. Simon was sooo excited about it and went to sleep quite easily for such a change!

Asleep for the first night in his new bed; such a big boy!

Another Snowman

You don't have to wait for the perfect "snowman snow" to make a snowman. When the temperature warms, the snow is packable once again. Simon and Eric had fun making a giant snowman in our front yard! Even though this guy only lasted one day, it was worth making!

Christmas Moments

The last few weeks have kept us very busy and happy! We have been filled with so much joy and blessings over the holidays, and would like to share some moments with you! Simon was an absolute delight on Christmas, and loved it all. Christmas Eve he knew something special was about to happen, but did not quite know what. His excitement and anticipation overfilled his little body. Many times he has taken a nap or gone to sleep with a new toy in his arms!!!!!!!!!!
December 22, we celebrated Christmas with Eric's siblings and parents. Simon enjoyed his aunts, uncles, cousins, and his Grandma and Grandpa. Christmas Eve was with the Luedtke's at Eric's mom's house, and Simon had fun with his cousin Emmie. We enjoyed a lazy Christmas day at our house, who knew new toys could bring so much excitement! After our delicious dinner we headed down to Eric's Mom's side of the family for the annual white elephant/Elvis exchange. Elvis resides in Villa Park for a year, but not at our house! Eric's Mom recieved the lovely Elvis this year! Becky's parents flew in for the New Year and we rang in the New Year with a five course gourmet dinner! New Year's Day was filled with a parade, football and pork ribs. Can't get much better than that!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy the sights and sounds of our Christmas-time!
