Welcome to our little corner of the world where we celebrate all the big and little moments in life. Sometimes a little ant makes our day and sometimes an important milestone marks the day! We hope you visit often, write a comment, and leave with a little happiness!

TRUCKS!!!

One morning we woke up to a dump truck, trailer, and a bobcot parked across the street!!! Work in the yard next door began, and we could not have been happier. It was a gorgeous spring day, so my little boy had a fantastic day watching trucks. Enjoy our morning with trucks with us!

Ladies Night Out

I enjoyed a wonderful dinner out with my girlfriends. Each one of us is on the journey of a second child. We celebrate the upcoming births with a special evening and gifts to celebrate the mother-to-be. Two of us already have number two, one is due very soon, and one more baby is to come in July! Round one for our group includes three boys and one girl. Round two so far includes one boy and one girl. The next baby is expected to be a girl, and we won't know until July what the fourth baby will be!

Simon's Doings

Porch season is officially opened! Here Simon and I are enjoying our first meal (lunch) on the front porch. We enjoy watching the cars, trucks, buses, vehicles with sirens, and anything with wheels that is fascinating to a 2 /12 year old!Simon is lounging on the couch watching a movie. Can you figure out which one? It has become a new favorite in our limited movie library.
Simon shared his most favorite-est items with his little sister. He decided Norah needed his blankie and added the ball that was most recently confiscated from Grandma's house.

One Month Old!!

Norah is one month old! It is amazing at the changes since we first met her on March 17th! Here are some of her accomplishments and our discoveries during her first month of life:
  • Smiles when her cheeks are tickled or talked to at a close distance
  • More alert and awake during the day
  • Stops crying when picked up and held, especially by Mommy
  • Tips herself from being held upright against the chest to laying sideways in our arms
  • Likes to be held facing forwards and sideways with your arm on her tummy
  • Sleeps for 3 or 4 hours at a time at night
  • She still looks a lot like Simon!
  • She is a social butterfly and does not like to be left alone for too long
  • Her neck is strong and she can hold up her head for a short time
  • Visually tracks with her eyes (small toys or people)
  • Continues to be quite the hiccup-otamus
  • Has gained the nickname "Squirt", with her audible and explosive bottom
  • Holds onto fingers
  • Has grown into her beautiful name!
  • Seems to look at us through our eyes and straight to our hearts

The View

A not-so-lovely view of our backyard! The neighbors started improving their yard by accessing our yard and the village's alley on December 2nd. The contractor has not been back since and left an obvious mess! Simon always asks "happen Mommy garden?" when we play outside. Eric has inquired with the village and we hope to have an answer and work done very soon. I especially want a rock free garden this summer. How fun for Simon to plant, water, and pick fresh veggies? We'll keep you posted!

Norah's Voice

Here is Norah's voice. Sorry for the sideways clip. I was taking pictures and she started to cry. I captured this moment to share her voice, but the camera did not get turned back around.

A Precious Moment

Playtime!!

Simon wearing a helmet (couldn't you tell?) and playing baseball.

Simon loves it when Norah plays on the floor with him. Every day they play "guys and cars" together!
