Welcome to our little corner of the world where we celebrate all the big and little moments in life. Sometimes a little ant makes our day and sometimes an important milestone marks the day! We hope you visit often, write a comment, and leave with a little happiness!

At the Farm

We met Aunt Lisa and Simon's cousins at the farm. Jessica, Nathaniel, Christina, Simon, and Norah had a fabulous time. We saw and fed farm animals, had a picnic, and played at the park. It was a lovely day! Enjoy these pictures of us feeding the animals, the boys, the older cousins, and the little girls! There is one of Simon, Norah, and me - which doesn't happen too often and one of all of us!

Nap in a Tent

This little "tent" is used outside for Norah when we cannot find complete shade. She either lays on a blanket or sits in her bouncy seat in this tent. Simon enjoyed it and decided to read books and take a nap in it one afternoon! I think he woke up confused, because he cried for quite awhile and did not want to nap in it again!

Three Months Old

Norah shared her 3 month day with Daddy's Birthday, 6/17/08 ! Here she is at 90 days old! What a joy she is and such a happy baby! This month she:

  • Vocalizes to gain attention
  • Continues to desire afternoon chat times
  • Sleeps from 8:00ish p.m. to 6:30ish a.m.
  • Does not cry very much
  • Loves being outside
  • has gained great head and neck control
  • looks all around her
  • sits against a couch/pillows for a short time (helps in taking pictures)
  • calms down when Simon talks to her when she is "not happy"
  • holds onto objects, especially her shirts and puts them in her mouth
  • loves to hold my thumb or finger when held close
  • laughs adorably
  • has become ticklish
  • sleeps through most of church
  • is loved by all!!!

Happy Father's Day and Happy Birthday, Daddy!!!

We love you so much, Daddy!!!!

What Simon thinks about Daddy's special days:
"a cake"
"a present for him"
"because Daddy's father day"

Simon kept the gifts a surprise, but told Daddy "mowlers" as he was opening up his Father's Day card with law mowers all over!

Norah's gifts to Daddy are nights of all night sleep! She is sleeping from 8:30ish p.m. to 8:00ish a.m. Oh, how wonderful!

Happy Birthday!!

Over Memorial Day weekend, Simon and his little friends celebrated their 3rd birthdays together! T.J turned 3 on June 13, Karl on June 14, Linaea on June 16, and Simon will turn 3 on June 30th! We had so much fun playing outside and eating great food! How wonderful to have friends!!!!!!!

Trip to Minnesota

We recently took a trip to Minnesota for my Grandmother's funeral. We drove to the southwest corner of MN to Butterfield, MN. I spent many childhood summer days in that area visiting Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Simon and Norah were able to meet family.

We then drove to St. Paul to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa. Each time we go, we play at a lovely park close to their house. I always get a picture with Simon on a rock. Norah had her first rock picture after "playing" at the park!

A look back to Simon's first rock picture.

Grandma's new bike and Simon's and Norah's new stroller. Grandpa was asked to modify their bike trailer to become a better double stroller!

Simon had fun playing games with Grandma, of course by making up his own rules!

We met our friends Mark and Sheryl for lunch and played with their little boy, Sean. We missed their daughter Maddy, who was playing with friends.

Eric, Becky, and Norah met Jo and Brent for a lovely dinner. We could spend hours just chatting away. Just look at the strawberry shortcake dessert that we sooooo enjoyed!!!

Where in the world . . .

. . . did we find this sign?
We think that if one were to arrive at this sign, one is either very lost or at the edge of the world? But, alas, no, this sign truly exists somewhere special and not at the edge of the world.

These pictures of Norah were taken on May 17th to document two months of age! I am just now able to share them with you! Here are her accomplishments this month:

  • Smiles constantly when talked to, held, or attended to
  • Enjoys afternoon conversations with Mommy
  • Coos back and forth
  • Still likes to be bundled and held facing forward
  • Takes a long morning nap, with her afternoon still not routine yet
  • Fusses herself to sleep between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
  • Awakens one time in the night between 2:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.!!!!
  • Stands by holding her weight with her legs when held
  • Not too appreciative of her two month shots
  • Weighed in at 12 pounds and 14 ounces, 80th percentile for weight
