Same Evening is Lovely

While attempting to schedule same day doctor appointments is typically impossible, I am 2 for 2 in securing same evening appointments within an hour after calling. It seems that if you call around 5:30 p.m., our family is able to see a doctor within minutes! I called at 5:10 for a 7:30 appointment this evening and experienced an immediate return call that stated we could come in right then as the office was open!

Norah has had this cough and today it increased. I do not enjoy "rushing" to the doctor, but am hesitant as she is supposed to attend preschool and day care tomorrow. Her seal bark cough at 3:00 a.m. improved until the afternoon. Then once she started coughing, she seemed to endure the cough attack. Some dry coughing and some loose sounding coughs. I got the stink eye from others while we were at the library. So, off to the doctor we went.

After completing a 10 day antibiotic for 6 short days, one ear looked "okay, as it should after an ear infection". The other ear was red and looked "not great". So, if this cold is on the way out, her ear could be fine. BUT, if this cold progresses and gets worse, then the ear is more than likely to be re-infected.

The great Dr. called in a prescription JUST IN CASE we have a bad night with crying and complaining. Because for an ear to go from red to infected is practically nothing. Or in case if she does not get better by Wednesday, we can decide to go pick up the antibiotic. Without needing another doctor appointment I tell you. Love this doctor.

I have a feeling we will need the antibiotic. As I am working in a quiet house, she is moaning in her sleep with an occasional burst of crying.

And so I must go now to comfort my icky sicky lil' miss . . .

Shucks, I thought you were all well by now. Sounds like you have a great doctor, though! I hope Norah is feeling all better really soon!

Oh, ears. They are my greatest nemesis. And the waking and crying was Ezra's ONLY "tell" when it came to ear infections.

Poor Norah. I hope she kicks it all to the curb soon.
