4th of July

Our festive day began by going to the Hinsdale 4th of July Parade with Grandma and Grandpa. A parade is great entertainment for a 2 year old. Every half minute something new and possibly noisy comes along. According to the sides of the streets, many people enjoy a parade. For those of you who do not enjoy this type of entertainment, look below for highlights.A great parade starts with many fire engines blaring their sirens. And this parade did not disappoint! Simon looked in awe at the happenings and did not once mind the noise!
The Humane Society paraded along the route with several of their animals. Please notice that this woman is walking a cat!
All parades have politicians, and this parade did not deter from that tradition. Republicans were out in full force. I will remember the name McMahon, because his entourage passed out refreshing lemonade. In case you did not know Judy!
After a nice lunch and naps, we headed to a friends house who had a party and a barbecue. Below is a picture of all the kiddos! We enjoyed the evening there until just before fireworks time. We all walked about 3 blocks from their house to a large park and enjoyed the night sky light up with the annual show! Simon just watched the fireworks while Eric covered his ears. He wore his "serious face", as he does with many new experiences!
