Tis' The Season

Tis' the Season is upon us! I would like to say that I am probably half way done with the gathering of the gifts. I started months ago, and just need to go through my stash to see what needs to be filled in. Grandma G made these awesome little bags with notebooks and pens for her little granddaughter. Well, my little girl cannot get enough little books so this is perfect little present for under the tree. Norah picked out the butterfly fabric and helped me make it. But since it has "disappeared" for a few days, I do believe she has forgotten about it.

I found the orange notebook and the little pens at the dollar store. I bought the last pack of pens. The green butterfly notebook was in a pack of 2, only one was missing, I got it for 50 cents! I found the other tiny butterfly notebook in my desk at work. I think this came from Debbie in Japan.

I am ripping out the final seam to turn in wrong side out again. So that I may re-sew the bottom seam to hide some previous stitches. I do not like how they popped through to the right side. I am also considering redoing the flap to have the lining fabric show when snapped shut. And to move the snap closer to the edge to allow for an easier close when a bit more full. Other than that, this was "easy peasy lemon squeezy".

I may not be a bag lady, yet, but this was quite fun! I think I am just a project girl. Simple, little, and fun.

So cute! I love your (Norah's) fabric choices... and butterfly notebooks, even... perfect!

That's the beauty of sewing... you can always rip and resew! ;) Of course, it's not the funnest job in the world.
